Webinar: Integrating Remotely Sensed Data with GBIF Mediated Data
Jul 9, 2025
The is offering a hands-on webinar about Integrating Remotely Sensed Data with GBIF Mediated Data. The session is led by NEON Ambassador, Kit Lewers, as part of GBIF's Data Use Club.
The webinar will explore how to connect biodiversity occurrence records with remote sensing imagery from multiple platforms with access to notebooks and two tutorials. Participants will walk through how to access and analyze NEON data using Google Earth Engine (GEE), pull species occurrence data directly from GBIF, and leverage NASA's earthaccess library to retrieve AVIRIS-NG hyperspectral imagery. The session will highlight practical workflows for linking ecological field data with satellite and airborne observations鈥攐ffering scalable approaches for biodiversity mapping and environmental monitoring.
Registration required to participate. Register for the session at .
Whether you're new to remote sensing or looking to deepen your integration of biodiversity and geospatial datasets, this session will offer concrete tools and reproducible code to jumpstart your own analyses.
