The NEON Great Lakes User Group will have a site tour of NEON's UNDE site in Domain 05 on October 6!

Participants will have the chance to:

Join a D05 botanist on all or part of a phenology bout.
Tour the aquatic instrumentation at Crampton Lake, take a few boats to the instrumentation buoy
See the UNDERC tower and soil instruments, with opportunity to climb the ~120 ft tower and get a tour of soil area and instrument hut.

A free CO-LABS network tour of the National Ecological Observatory Network headquarters and labs in Boulder, CO.

The National Ecological Observatory Network, sponsored by the National Science Foundation and operated by Battelle, is designed to collect and provide open data that characterize and quantify complex, rapidly changing ecological processes across the United States. NEON collects and processes data that characterize plant, animals, soil, nutrients, freshwater and atmosphere from field sites across the U.S. (including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico). Data and resources are freely available to enable users to tackle scientific questions at scales not accessible to previous generations of ecologists. Come hear about their most recent projects, see an observation tower, learn about their 80+ tower sites throughout the U.S. and connect with scientists at the forefront of ecological analyses.
